Kempinski San Lawrenz, Gozo

Elegant hotel with Ayurveda Spa and easy walking distance to the sea

7 nights from around £1,150pp sharing a Deluxe Room, including breakfast, complimentary daily yoga, flights and transfers

The tiny Mediterranean island of Gozo is only 9 miles long and 5 miles wide, so you really can explore the whole place in a week, and the Kempinski San Lawrenz is a great base for doing just that on foot or on bikes or the hotel's complimentary shuttle service. Alternatively, there's an excellent selection of facilities and services at the hotel to keep everyone happy and entertained, whatever their age and preferences.

Accommodation

Kempinski San Lawrenz has 73 rooms and 49 suites, all are elegantly furnished, very spacious and have complimentary WiFi. We recommend minimum room category of a Deluxe Pool View Room (with private balcony) or a Junior Suite for even more space. The 2 Bedroom Suites or the 3 Bedroom Apartments are perfect for families. All rooms have flat screen TV, telephone, safe, mini-bar, air-conditioning and ceiling fan, bath robes and complimentary toiletries. The hotel carries a 5 star accreditation but we think it would be better described as very good 4*.

Spa & Wellness Programmes

Perhaps surprisingly, Kempinski San Lawrenz has two spas. The tranquil Ayurveda Spa offers a variety of wellness programmes, such as detox, weight loss and rejuvenation - all under the guidance and supervision of a qualified Ayurveda physician who tailor-makes the treatments to promote your well-being and treat specific conditions. The separate western-style Spa offers a wide choice of non-Ayurvedic treatments. The combined spa areas have 2 heated indoor pools, an indoor Jacuzzi, an Oriental Hammam, a steam bath and a yoga studio.

Facilities & Services

In addition to the two spas and the vast semi-tropical gardens, there are 3 large free-form outdoor pools at the hotel, one of which is dedicated

to adults only, and there two indoor pools. Plus, there's a yoga studio (with a complimentary daily class), fitness facilities

and 2 flood-lit tennis courts. The concierge can arrange bicycle hire, boat trips, and scuba diving.

There is a good selection of places to dine at the hotel, all with al fresco options, and there is a daily healthy menu. Enjoy a light lunch in the gardens at Fish & Grill or dine casually at the Italian ‘Trattoria San Lawrenz’ or choose fine dining at Ortolan. All the restaurants provide delicious Mediterranean and light Maltese cuisine. There's also a Pool Bar and a specialist Wine Bar.

The hotel provides a complimentary, regular shuttle service to some of the island's most charming and picturesque villages and beaches.

Families

The Kids' Club is a complimentary service for 3 to 12 year olds and is open every day from 10.00 - 13.00 and 14.00 - 18.00 from May to September. Activities vary on a daily basis and include creative craft work, painting and board games.

Babysitting services are also available upon request.

Weather & Seasons

Due to its southern Mediterranean climate, many regard Gozo as a year round destination. We recommend it from April to October.

Getting Here

It's a 3 hour flight to Malta from London followed by a 75 minute transfer, which includes the half hour scenic ferry crossing from Malta, past the uninhabited island of Kemmuna, to Gozo.
