Day 1: London to Cape Town

An overnight flight enables you to maximise your time in South Africa and, with the added advantage of being in almost the same time zone as the UK, there's no jet lag.

Day 2: Cape Town

On arrival, you'll be met at the airport and driven to your Cape Town residence (transfer time is approx 45 minutes) where you can settle in and freshen up. After you've made yourself at home, head out for lunch in one of the many great local café’s and restaurants located on and around Kloof Street, a stone’s throw from your luxury One Bedroom Apartment at More Quarters (images below). You will be staying here for 4 nights in your very own home from home, with breakfast served in the neighbouring Cape Cadogan Hotel.

Days 3 to 5: Cape Town

There's so much to see and enjoy in and around Cape Town that you may well wish you were staying longer! We can help you prepare a list of the 'must see' places, such as Kirstenbosch Gardens, Table Mountain, the penguins at Simons Town, and the beaches at Camps Bay, Clifton and Bloubergstrand. Of course, there's also The Cape of Good Hope, the V & A Marina and the vineyards of Stellenbosch and Constantia. A representative from your car hire company will meet you at the hotel on your penultimate morning here to complete the car hire formalities. Overnight at More Quarters

Day 6: Cape Town to Franschhoek

Today you set off in your hire car an hour or so from Cape Town to a beautiful green valley, where tall mountains give way to rolling vineyards below. It was here the persecuted French Protestants, among them experienced winemakers, chose to settle when they sought refuge in South Africa in the late 1600s. The place was called 'Coin Francais', the French corner; in Dutch, Fransch Hoek. Today, the French influence in Franschhoek valley is still strong. It can be seen in the picturesque architecture of the small village, and tasted in the area's wonderful cuisine and wines, the settlers' greatest legacy. Set in the heart of the village, Le Quartier Francais is renowned for its exceptional cuisine and hospitality and will be your new home for 2 nights - staying in an Auberge Room on B&B basis.

Day 7: Franschhoek

Explore Franschhoek and the surrounding area as you see fit. The hotel will be able to point you in the direction of local wine estates and best little restaurants. Alternatively you could board the wine tram that navigates the wineries of the Franschhoek Valley and is a fun way to explore the area.  Overnight at Le Quartier Francais

Day 8: Franschhoek to Montagu

Today, it's time to drive another fabulously scenic route, this time to Galenia Estate, about 2 hours away. The Galenia experience combines the natural beauty of this 1,300 acre estate, with its private and peaceful setting sheltered by the majestic Langeberg Mountains and enjoying magnificent views, with a hospitality offering that is designed to complement and connect to the surroundings. Galenia's 10 guest suites make the most of the natural beauty and the panoramic views of the Klein Karoo.

Day 9: Montagu

Spend today exploring the estate or the local area. The Robertson wine valley is nearby as are the Breede River and Klein Karoo. There are numerous walking and biking are trails and the estate is also just a lovely place to relax. Overnight at Galenia Estate

Day 10: Montagu to Hermanus

Today, it's time to venture back to the coast, for a 2 night stay at The Marine in a Luxury Sea View Room on B&B basis. It's about a 2 hour drive from Montagu and is perched on top of the cliffs at Hermanus, The Marine has one of the southern hemisphere's most spectacular seascapes, backed by the mighty Overberg Mountains. Stroll along the cliff hugging path and take in the breath-taking views of Walker Bay. The sparkling, heated courtyard pool might beckon, perfect for catching some African sun or sip a glass of local wine in The Sun Lounge with nothing between you and the South Pole,

other than 3,000 miles of ocean.

Day 11: Hermanus

Explore Hermanus and the surrounding area. Walk along the cliffs from town to explore Hermanus’ beaches or nearby Walker Bay is a vast, wild stretch of coastline. Overnight at The Marine

Day 12: Time to fly home

As you have an evening flight back to London, there's no rush. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and lunch at the hotel (or nearby) before the 90 minute drive to Cape Town airport to drop off your car, and check-in.
