Trulli dei Pini, Puglia, Italy
Simple and elegant 4 bedroom family villa with a large pool and just 1.5km from Cisternino
7 nights exclusive villa rental from £2,295. Flights and car hire available at an additional charge.
Surrounded by mature gardens, close to Cisternino (with its gorgeous old town that's remained virtually intact for centuries), this charming family villa has four distinctive trullo cones, a sunny little orchard, a large swimming pool, and a style of rustic elegance and simplicity. Making the most of the Mediterranean climate, this lovely little trulli house is thoughtfully designed and equipped for indoor/outdoor living.
The layout of the house itself is ideal for two families. In the characterful trulli section, there are two bedrooms, a living room and kitchenette opening out to a patio; and interconnecting doors link the old with the new, with two further bedrooms and an open-plan kitchen/living room in the modern area. Ground Floor (original house): entrance hall, open-plan sitting room with dining area, kitchenette, twin (or double) bedroom with en suite, and a double bedroom with separate bathroom. Ground Floor (modern extension): open-plan sitting room and kitchen, double bedroom with en suite and a small twin bedroom and shower room. Outdoor Kitchen: kitchen, shower, utility room, BBQ and pizza oven.
Private swimming pool 14m x 6m, 1.1m - 2.25m deep, with pool towels. Washing machine, dish washer, fridge/freezer, oven, hob, microwave, Smart TV, DVD player and CD player, wifi, built-in BBQ, outdoor kitchen, table tennis. Air-conditioning in sitting room (modern extension) only. The trulli are designed to be naturally cool.

Enjoying a sense of privacy in its gated gardens, the house is actually just 1.5km from Cisternino centre, reached on foot along the narrow country lanes. A 10km drive leads to a choice of beaches, and Martina Franca, Ostuni and Alberobello are all within 20km.
Three is the magic number, so they say, and nowhere is this truer than in the Valle d'Itria with its trio of enchanting, historic towns: Alberobello, Locorotondo and Cisternino. Like its sisters, Cisternino, boasts a small, utterly charming old town centre that has remained virtually intact for centuries. Its whitewashed houses, narrow, shady streets, historic churches and elegant central piazza open out onto a series of panoramic view points from which visitors can take in the surrounding countryside, with its rolling hills, dry stone walls and white-tipped conical trulli roofs piercing the green fields.
Weather & Seasons
The climate in Puglia is generally warm sunny and dry in April/May and again in October with the risk of the odd shower of rain. Sometimes it can be cool in the evenings. By June the weather settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can get a bit humid. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. June and September are particularly pleasurable months.
It's a 2 hour and 45 minute flight to Bari or Brindisi from the UK, and both airports are about 70km from the villa.
