Four Seasons Kyoto, Japan

Luxurious sanctuary in the heart of the ancient imperial city of Kyoto

From around £250 per person per night sharing a Deluxe Room. Flights and transfers available at an additional cost.

Located in a traditional Japanese garden dating back to the 12th Century, Four Seasons Kyoto offers spacious, contemporary accommodation with a Japanese flare in the historical heart of Kyoto. Myoho-In and Sanjusangendo Temples are 5 minutes away whilst the famous Gion Geisha District is 15 minutes.

Accommodation

Four Seasons Kyoto has 113 rooms and suites which are a calming retreat after a busy day exploring. The modern décor throughout blends regal purple and natural olive green, with touches of traditional Japanese design. All rooms feature soft lantern lighting, a sitting area and balconies with stunning views of the garden or the Myoho-in Temple. Courtesy of the floor to ceiling windows you have great views of the trees, either snow kissed in winter or in full blossom during Spring (blossom season usually runs from March to April). Room choices range from the standard Four Seasons Rooms through to the larger Deluxe Rooms.

Activities & Experiences

Enjoy all that Kyoto has to offer from shopping, discovering the culture and traditions of this once Imperial city. Four Seasons Kyoto also has a number of experiences from Zen Meditation at the Zen Temple, a traditional Tea Ceremony at the hotel's own tea house and the chance to learn the art of Kyo yaki, beautiful Japanese pottery.

Facilities & Services

The hotel’s eclectic mix of restaurants, lounges and bars will satisfy even the most discerning foodies, including their unique Tea House, set in a beautiful 800 year old pond garden. A specialist sushi restaurant serves up fresh and elegant creations at the 10-seater Hinoki counter.

Spa

After a busy day out and about it's good to know that the hotel's the spa is the perfect place to relax. With seven treatment rooms, two saunas and steam rooms, a couple's spa suite, a lap pool and two whirlpools, there is plenty to help restore your tranquility.

Weather & Seasons

The best and most popular times to visit Kyoto are the climatically stable seasons of spring (March to May) and autumn (late September to November). The highlight of spring is the cherry-blossom season, which usually arrives in Kyoto in early April. Bear in mind, though, that the blossoms are notoriously fickle, blooming any time from late March to mid-April. Autumn is an equally good time to travel, with pleasant temperatures and soothing autumn colours, which usually peak between late October and mid-November.
