Classic Zambia Safari

Luxury tailor-made safari combining Luangwa Valley, Lower Zambezi and Victoria Falls

11 nights from £6,990, including accommodation, guides, flights and transfers
Best time to go: June to September

You will be astonished by the sheer concentration and surprising diversity of wildlife that can be found in Zambia and this exceptional safari show cases the country's best of destinations, starting with a stay in game-rich Luangwa Valley before flying on to the magical Lower Zambezi, followed by a visit to the

magnificent Victoria Falls.

Day 1: UK to Lusaka

Your Zambia odyssey begins in the vibrant capital, Lusaka, with an overnight flight via Johannesburg or Dubai.

Day 2: Lusaka

We’ll meet you at the airport on arrival and whisk you off to Latitude 15 (images below), a contemporary, cosmopolitan hotel just outside the city centre, which artfully combines the best of traditional and modern African life. It's a great place to decompress after your overnight flight.

Days 3 to 5: Luangwa Valley

A short flight to Mfuwe in the Luangwa Valley, will bring you to one of the most wildlife-rich areas in all of Africa. Here you’ll stay on the banks of the Luangwa River at the superb Chinzombo Lodge (images below). A fabulously diverse game population roams the valley’s waterways, plains and woodlands. Look out for hippo, leopard and some 400 bird species. Take a guided walking safari or a night safari, and expect plenty of awe inspiring encounters along the way.

Days 6 to 8: Lower Zambezi

Just a short flight from Mfuwe, the Lower Zambezi is where you’ll find Sausage Tree Camp, the perfect spot to observe wildlife and enjoy the spectacular scenery. From the deck of your luxury tent you'll see elephant and hippo come down to the river to drink and bathe. As well as game drives you can take a canoe safari to discover wildlife on and beside the majestic Zambezi River.

Days 9 to 10: Zambezi and Victoria Falls

No visit to Zambia would be complete without a visit to the spectacular Victoria Falls. Your base will be at the truly exceptional Tongabezi Lodge on the banks of the Zambezi, upstream from the Falls, and voted one of the top 10 hotels of the world by Condé Nast Traveller in 2018. Enjoy watching game coming down to the river for a drink, sunset cruises, relaxing by the pool, spa treatments and an unforgettable visit to the Smoke that Thunders: the Victoria Falls. The nearby riverside town of Livingstone has also become a hub for adventure: bungee jumps, rope-swings and white water rafting trips on the Zambezi are just a few of the action-packed activities available. Of course, you can also explore the Falls and surrounding area in a more sedate fashion!

Day 11: Livingstone to London

As your Zambia adventure comes to an end, you’ll fly from Livingstone to Johannesburg, connecting with an overnight flight back to the UK.
