Davison's Camp, Hwange, Zimbabwe

Small tented camp with a high level of service and first class guiding

Available as part of a tailor-made itinerary designed for you by our safari specialists

Set in the private Linkwasha Concession in a remote north-eastern corner of Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park, Davison’s Camp is a nine tented room camp that's owned and managed by Wilderness Safaris, providing  a high level of service and guiding to its guests. Linkwasha Concession is home to one of the densest concentrations of game in Africa and Davison's Camp is one of the few camps within the park, offering complete luxury and utter privacy while surrounded by incredible wildlife.

Accommodation

Davison's Camp has nine en-suite tented rooms, including one two-bedroom family tent. Each homely tent is furnished to the highest standard, with inside shower and flushing loo, and comes with its own private deck and magnificent views across the waterhole below.

Activities & Experiences

Activities at the camp are extensive with plenty of opportunities to get up close to the wildlife. You can choose to explore Hwange by foot or head out in an open sided 4WD with an expert safari guide. Look out for the Big Five as well as other animals such as Burchell's zebra, hippo and warthog. In total there are over 100 mammal species in the park and is also home to more than 400 species of birds.

Facilities & Services

After your morning game drive, the swimming pool provides an enticing place to cool off from the heat of the African sun before enjoying an unforgettable afternoon tea in the main hub of the camp, the lounge and dining area. In the evenings, you can gather round the open campfire - the perfect place to retire and swap stories with your fellow campers, sundowner in hand, before enjoying a delicious dinner in the main tent.

Weather & Seasons

The best time for game viewing is from August to early November when water is scarce and game congregates around the waterholes. Birdlife is prolific during the rainy season, and although the game has dispersed due to readily available surface water, this is still a great time to experience Hwange as the National Park.

Getting Here

Fly in to Victoria Falls, followed by a light aircraft flight to Linkwasha, a private airstrip which is a 40 minute drive from camp.
