Changa Safari Camp is set in Matusadona National Park on a finger of land that reaches out into Lake Kariba. Stay in private East African-style luxury tents with commanding views of the rugged Matusadona Mountains and the lake. It's a great combination of an authentic safari camp mixed with a relaxed beach-side feel. Changa Safari Camp enjoys a superb 4.5 km of private Lake Kariba shoreline and offers guests the chance to experience a true African safari, whether it be by game drive vehicle, on foot or by boat, accompanied by the highly skilled in-camp guiding team.

Accommodation

Each of the 8 luxury tent comes with en-suite facilities, an “under-the-stars” bath and shower, fabulous Lake Kariba views and private decking complete with a hammock for lazy afternoons gazing at the water and the distant mountains.

Activities & Experiences

Changa Safari Camp is an excellently placed for exploring on foot, and also offers game drives and superb boat excursions. Look out for antelope, elephant, leopard, hippos and the many other majestic beasts that populate this past of Africa. The guides are experienced, friendly and love sharing their knowledge.

Facilities & Services

The main area of the camp has an authentically furnished lounge, library, separate dining-room, swimming pool and a novel bar created from an old fishing boat. The camp beautifully blends into the surrounding bush, providing a wonderful hideout for those who long to get close to nature. The emphasis at Changa is a relaxed atmosphere, and meal times come under this umbrella. Guests usually sit together around a large table in the dining room or under a shady tree on the deck.

Weather & Seasons

Botswana’s winter is May to October when the weather is hot during the day (not stiflingly hot) and cold at night. Botswana's summer months from November to April can be hot and humid, with a chance of rain. Botswana's rainy season runs from mid-December to mid-March. The Okavango Delta provides excellent wildlife viewing year-round.

Getting Here

Charter flights are available into Fothergill Island airfield from Victoria Falls (approx 90 minutes) and elsewhere. The camp is an easy 20 minute boat transfer form the airfield.
