Miavana, Madagascar

Ultra-luxurious eco-lodge on the tiny island of Nosy Ankao, just off Madagascar's north east coast

7 nights all-inclusive from around £14,000pp sharing a One Bedroom Villa. Flights available at an additional cost.

Miavana is a sublime all-villa boutique hideaway on an untouched island surrounded by glorious powder-soft sandy beaches and pristine coral reefs. Apart from being an exquisite beach lodge that's perfect for kicking back and relaxing, it also offers all the adventures you'd expect on a safari, with wildlife, activities and adventures galore - something which truly sets it apart as a destination. We also like its strong conservation ethics and close links to the island's community.

Perhaps combine a stay here with a wider Madagascar itinerary which we can tailor-make for you.

Accommodation

Miavana has just 14 one, two and three bedroom villas strung along the western side of the island, all leading out on to the beach and perfectly positioned for enjoying spectacular Indian Ocean sunsets. The villas are fabulously spacious, with the smallest measuring and massive 450sq.m and all have indoor and outdoor living spaces and a private deck to the front that steps straight on to the sand.

Activities & Experiences

Activities available at and from Miavana include Lemur treks and guided nature walks, helicopter excursions to nearby nature reserves, Scuba diving, snorkelling and a wide variety of watersports, world class fishing (from fly to deep sea), turtle, whale and dolphin watching,

 and in-villa spa treatments.

Facilities & Services

The main lodge features a sweeping white rock wall which shields the indoor areas from the elements. Here you'll find a french garden, wine cellar and dining areas. To the front is a beautiful outdoor dining and bar area with swimming pool, set on the sand and surrounded by lush green vegetation.

Weather & Seasons

As a general rule, the best time to travel to most areas in Madagascar is April/May to October/November with warm days and less chance of rainfall. However, any time of year is fine for a visit to Miavana as, unlike other parts of northern Madagascar which often experience heavy rainfall and cyclones from January to March, these months are a good time to stay at Miavana for fishing and snorkelling. You can expect a bit of a breeze and any rainfall is normally overnight. The coolest time to travel anywhere around Madagascar is during the dry season (May to October) with average highs around 30°C in coastal areas.

Getting Here

Fly to Madagascar and then on to Diego Suarez in the north. From here, a helicopter will whisk you out to Nosy Ankao.
