Palais Namaskar, Marrakech
Elegant and sophisticated luxury boutique hotel in the smart Palmeraie district, 15 minutes from the Medina
From around £185pp per night sharing a Superior Room, including breakfast. Flights and transfers available at an additional cost.
Palais Namaskar sits in vast, beautifully manicured grounds with calming water features, scented gardens and spectacular views of the snow capped Atlas Mountains. Located in the Palmeraie, just 15 minutes outside Marrakech, this luxurious and sophisticated boutique hotel is a wonderfully peaceful oasis.
Accommodation
The rooms and suites offer much more space than comparable hotels in central Marrakech, with walls of glass opening on to ornamental pools, and some with private terraces with views of the Atlas mountains. The Pool Villas have private pools surrounded by jasmine or orange trees. The bathrooms come with an additional outdoor tub, while bedrooms have been designed with Feng Shui principles in mind and
include fireplaces, iPod docks and B & O televisions.
Activities & Experiences
The 'pink city' of Marrakech is just 15 minutes from Palais Namaskar and the hotel offers a complementary shuttle service (actually a Mercedes saloon car) in to town. Explore the world famous Medina (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), haggle in the souks or visit the Yves Saint Laurent museum, the Majorelle Gardens or Koutoubia Mosque. In the other direction, how about some guided hiking in the Atlas Mountains or lunch at Kasbah Tamadot? Golfers should note that Marrakech is now home to half a dozen outstanding golf courses.
At Palais Namaskar, there's an excellent fitness room, personal training, yoga classes, spa treatments, a choice of restaurants and
bars, cookery classes and a kids' club.
Restaurants & Spa
On offer at the hotel is the French-inspired Le Namaskar Restaurant; La Table d’Antoine, for daytime dining; and Le Sawadee, for Thai cuisine. All of the restaurants have Moroccan influences, but are as much French as anything else. The star of the show, in many ways, is the No Mad Bar, on the rooftop of Le Namaskar and hidden behind a curtain and up a staircase that opens on to extraordinary views of the Atlas Mountains. Sit up there, sipping an excellent cocktail with the call to prayer wafting over the hills and it’s hard to imagine a more perfect setting. However, if you fancy a change of scene, the hotel provides regular complimentary transfers in to Marrakech.
Once you've spent enough time by your private pool enjoying the sunshine, you may care to retreat to the sanctuary of the hotel's Feng Shui inspired spa for some heavenly pampering.
Weather & Seasons
Marrakech is best avoided during the peak summer months of July and August - it's simply too hot! But for the rest of the year you can expect it to be warm and sunny. For example you can expect highs of 20°C in December and January, 25°C in March and 29°C in May and October.
Getting Here
Flying time from UK to Marrakech is 3 hours, followed by a 20 minute transfer to the hotel.
