Reserva Amazonica, Amazon, Peru

Comfortable eco-lodge in the biodiversity heart of Peru's southern Amazon Basin

Price available on request, together with flights, transfers and guides, as part of a tailor-made tour of Peru

Inspired by native Amazon design, Reserva Amazonica is a comfortable rustic eco-lodge located in a private ecological reserve and research centre spanning 10,000 hectares. With just 30 thatched roof cabañas - all combining natural materials with contemporary amenities and built in the native Machiguenga and Ese'Eja style - set in Peru's southern Amazon near Maldonado. Enjoy superb guided excursions and discover this amazingly bio diverse region.

Accommodation

Four cabaña options are available - each individually decorated in an elegant, rustic style to create the most luxurious lodges in the Amazon. The Reserva is the place to go for an authentic, safe and comfortable stay in the biodiversity capital of Peru, where a single giant tree is home to more insect species than in the whole of the UK.

Activities & Experiences

Reserva Amazonica is a magical base from which to discover the jungle's fauna and flora with an included programme of activities and excursions and experience this natural haven of trees, insects and mammals. A network of sidewalks join Reserva Amazonica’s lodges and

8 kms of trails wind through the surrounding jungle. The lodge features one of Latin America’s largest tree canopy walkways, comprising a system of towers and hanging bridges high in the forest canopy. Carefully camouflaged, it allows guests to watch and interact with species. The reserve also features the ‘Anaconda walk’, a series of raised platforms at ground level to make exploring the forest floor easy. Guests can also take to the river for a sunset or half-day cruise to explore deeper into the amazing Amazon jungle, accompanied by an expert bilingual guide.

Facilities & Services

Reserva Amazonica has a restaurant, bar, small spa, dining pavilion, canopy and butterfly house. At the restaurant, dishes using local foods are creatively prepared for you. They are served in the dining pavilion which has been built around the trunk of a strangler fig.

Weather & Seasons

Reserva Amazonica is in the tropical Amazon Basin and the climate is hot and humid at all times. The average annual temperature is 26 °C with the months of August and September being the hottest. The wet season is from October to April.
