Steenberg Hotel, Cape Town

Luxury boutique hotel set in the Constantia Valley, just outside Cape Town

From around £200 per room per night on bed and breakfast basis. Flights and transfers available at additional cost.

One of the oldest residences in the Cape is now a luxury boutique hotel that's brimming with history but is stylish and contemporary too. Steenberg Hotel is a great option if you want easy access to Cape Town (20 minutes away) but prefer a peaceful countryside setting to being in the city itself. The Steenberg Estate comprises a 24 bedroom hotel, a famously good fine-dining restaurant, a funky bar and brasserie, a spa, a winery and an 18 hole golf course. The hotel buildings date back to 1682 and have now been declared a national monument.

Accommodation

This charming, boutique hotel has just 24 bedrooms. Accommodation options range from standard luxury rooms to the magnificent Heritage Suites.  All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, a fully stocked mini-bar, tea/coffee making facilities and Satellite television.

Facilities & Services

Steenberg's swimming pool is a delightfully peaceful, sunny oasis and, just a short stroll from your sun-lounger, you can enjoy any number of treatments in the spa. Also on the estate there's a good 18 hole golf course and a well known and highly regarded winery. Catharina's, the fine dining restaurant, is excellent - even in a city with so many first class restaurants - and Bistro Sixteen82 is a terrific all day bar and dining option, with funky contemporary styling.

Weather & Seasons

Cape Town is a year-round destination but regarded as being best from November to March, but October and April can be lovely too.

Getting Here

It's just under 12 hours flying time from the UK to Cape Town, followed by a 30 minute transfer.
