Choose from one of 7 unique tree-rooms for an extraordinary holiday experience near the Arctic Circle

3 nights from around £550pp sharing, including breakfast. Flights and transfers available at an additional cost.

Treehotel proves that nobody ever grows out of loving tree houses, and the 7 unique 'tree-rooms' allow all ages to enjoy an inspiring and memorable holiday adventure in Swedish Lapland, just 100km south of the Arctic Circle. Summer and winter provide very different experiences, but both seasons are remarkable.

Accommodation

Top designers were asked to create their idea of a unique 'tree-room' and the results are truly amazing. It's not just the architecture of each room / treehouse that's unique - the furniture, lighting and fabrics are also custom designed. Sized between 15-30m², with the largest housing up to five people, these environmentally friendly tree rooms are built on live trees and feature under floor heating, electricity from hydroelectric power and low energy LED lights. Choose to stay in the UFO, Mirrorcube, Bird's Nest, Blue Cone, 7th Room, Dragonfly or Cabin. With the exception of 7th Room, the tree rooms are 'shower free' but the nearby shower blocks are both well outfitted, with saunas in each – well, you are in Sweden, after all – and one has a whirlpool plunge bath. There’s also an open-air hot tub, which is satisfyingly brisk in the winter and

surrounded by greenery in summer.

Activities & Experiences

Whenever you choose to stay at Treehotel, there's always plenty of activities on offer. The long summer days are perfect for big walks, mountain biking, horse riding, zip-lining, fishing, and kayaking on the Lule River. The snowy scenes during the winter months provide guests with a completely different experience. Pulled by dogs whilst wrapped in a blanket on a sled is a wonderful way to explore, stopping at welcoming fires for warming food and drinks. Snowmobiling, ice fishing and even igloo building are offered. And, of course, during the winter months the chance of observing the magical Northern Lights is reasonably likely. Be sure to keep your eyes out to spot the sociable reindeer (who frequently stroll among the treehouses) and the odd moose or arctic fox.

Facilities & Services

Even though Treehotel is so far off the beaten path, the food is still delicious with a strong focus on fresh and local produce. Guests venture to Britta's Guesthouse (the rather quirky 1950's main building) to sample the daily menu which is built around seasonal wild game accompanied by delicious fresh salads and tempting bread. Dinner is usually a buffet, but table service can easily be arranged -

as can romantic dinners off-site or meals delivered to your tree-room.

A visit to Scandinavia would be somewhat incomplete without a sauna, so The Tree Sauna provides wonderful places to enjoy the heat.

Weather & Seasons

A trip to Swedish Lapland between November and March will allow you to make the most of your chances of catching the Northern Lights.
