We design each itinerary around you, so this suggested itinerary is a starting point that we can tweak or transform into something completely bespoke to you.

Day 1: London to Kiruna

Fly via Stockholm to Kiruna. On arrival in Kiruna, we'll pick you up for the 15 minute transfer to The Ice Hotel in Jukkasjarvi. Rather than going by vehicle, why not start your adventure instantly by transferring to the Ice Hotel by snowmobile or husky sledge?

The Ice Hotel is in the very north of Sweden in a small village called Jukkasjärvi - about 200km north of the Arctic Circle. Remodelled each year from ice blocks garnered from the river Torne, ice sculptors are handpicked to design an art suite each. They spend weeks mastering their sculptures using "snice" - an art that involves creating a cement from ice and snow and welding it together with water which turns to ice fusing the structures together. You will spend your first night in the Ice Hotel's beautiful cold accommodation.

Days 2 & 3: The Ice Hotel

After your first night at -5 degrees inside the Ice Hotel, your next two nights will be in the warmth of one of the hotel's rooms or chalets. During the day, you'll have the opportunity of getting a taste of life in Lapland. Apart from marveling at the Auroras in the vast night sky, there are plenty of activities on offer to make your stay even more unforgettable. Everything from exploring by snowmobile, husky sledding, reindeer and moose safaris, and dropping in at a Sami campfire en route to sample some traditional food.

Day 4: Ice Hotel to Treehotel

Next stop is the wonderful Treehotel - catch a train or take a private transfer 3 hours 45 minutes south of Kiruna to reach your very own treehouse. Spend the next 2 nights perched high in the canopy of Harads forest and expect incredible sunrises and sunsets from one of the seven uniquely designed rooms. A warm and homely welcome at Britta’s Pensionat will be waiting for you as well as delicious food and traditional Swedish fare.

Day 5: Treehotel

Located just below the Arctic Circle, the snowy winter wonderland surrounding Treehotel provides a range of unique adventures. Pulled by dogs whilst wrapped in a blanket on a sled is a wonderful way to explore, stopping at welcoming fires for warming food and drinks. Snowmobiling, ice fishing and even igloo building are offered. And, of course, during the winter months the chance of observing the magical Northern Lights is reasonably likely. Be sure to keep your eyes out to spot the sociable reindeer (who frequently stroll among the treehouses) and the odd moose or arctic fox. At night, venture out under the moonlight to a nearby lake, where you can spend an evening dining atop the frozen waters. After a three-course dinner in a heated tipi, you'll have the chance to spot the beautiful yet elusive Northern Lights.

Day 6: Time to Fly Home

On this particular itinerary, your adventures in Swedish Lapland are now over. Today, you'll be driven to Luleå (an hour away) for your 75 minute flight to Stockholm in order to connect to your onward flight to London. But why not spend a night or two in magical Stockholm, staying somewhere chic and boutique like Ett Hem?
