Stunning boutique desert hideaway on the banks of San Pedro River

Only available as part of a tailor-made tour created by our Chile specialists

Alto Atacama nestles in a valley of sublime beauty, in the shadow of the Pukará de Quitor ruins and with the San Pedro River winding its way alongside. The lodge is a beautiful work of architecture - inside and out - and blends seamlessly into its surroundings very much like the typical dwellings of the area and is located 10 minutes outside of the oasis village of San Pedro; it's a superb base for visiting the Atacama Desert.

Accommodation

The property's exceptional design extends into Alto Atacama's 42 rooms. All are spacious, comfortable, and conducive to a good night's sleep after an action-packed day. The decoration is rustic yet elegant, with local crafts adding warmth and character. All rooms have their own private terrace, perfect for enjoying a good book, or simply relaxing and admiring the views of the gardens and the mountains.

Activities & Experiences

Activities on offer from Alto Atacama include guided tours to the surrounding desert and mountains, climbing, trekking and mountain biking. At night, the crystal clear sky is perfect for star gazing, and the resident expert can explain what's what in the heavens. Guests can also indulge in a variety of relaxing treatments in the Puri Spa where they use water from glacial snow and aromatic herbs to create serenely relaxing and rejuvenating therapies.

Facilities & Services

Alto Atacama has six small outdoor pools surrounded by extensive decked areas, overlooking the beautiful Catarpe Valley. There's an outdoor bar and restaurant, perfect for enjoying the desert mountain views.
