Set in a tranquil, idyllic location, Four Seasons Chiang Mai is a stunning boutique resort in the beautiful Mae Rim Valley. Designed like a traditional Thai village and laid out around working rice terraces and surrounded by mountains makes a stay here feel like stepping into another world, yet it's just minutes from the artistic and cultural heritage of Thailand's northern capital: Chiang Mai.

The resort's 64 elegantly decorated pavilions, each with a private covered veranda, and 16 magnificent residences are furnished in a style consistent with a luxurious northern Thai home. All feature: down duvets and pillows, thick bathrobes, wifi, satellite TV, CD/DVD player, iPod dock, safe, minibar, tea and coffee facilities and complimentary daily newspaper.

There's lots to enjoy, including cooking classes, elephant experiences, mountain biking and rice planting. Treat yourself in the fabulous spa and perhaps join a yoga, meditation or Pilates class. There's a shuttle to Chiang Mai five times a day for those wishing to get out and explore. Also off-site, there's horse riding (15 minutes) and, for golfers, world-class Summit Green Valley Country Club is just 10 minutes away.
