Kemet Dahabiya, Nile Cruises, Egypt

Nile cruises aboard an elegant 8 cabin (all ensuite) dahabiya

The Kemet Dahabiya Nile Cruise can be privately chartered for five- and seven-night Nile cruises between Luxor and Aswan (and vice versa).
Alternatively, individual cabins can be booked for certain dates, joing others.

A Dahabiya is a traditional Nile sailing vessel with no motor. Originally built to carry celebrities and royal families, the Dahabiya was a luxury pleasure boat for the Nile. 'Kemet' means 'Black Land' as this is what the Pharaohs called Egypt, due to the fertility of the soil around the Nile, which was very dark and rich. Kemet Dahabiya is 55m long and 8m wide, and provides a deluxe Nile cruise experience offering a unique take on contemporary Egypt that fuses old and new, with elegant contemporary interiors.

Accommodation

The Kemet Dahabiya has eight ensuite guest cabins (in three different room categories) and can accommodate up to 19 guests. Ensuite bathrooms have a loo, shower and washbasin.

The Journey

The five and seven night cruises include Luxor and Aswan and privately guided excursions led by an experienced Egyptologist, who travels with you.

Facilities & Services

While sailing along the Nile, much of your time will be spent on the lovely split-level sundeck, either relaxing on a sun lounger on the roof (also the ideal spot for stargazing) or sitting in the shade on a comfortable sofa or armchair. Furthermore, at the very rear end of the boat there is another deck with a great 180 degrees views. They are all perfect vantage points from which to enjoy the stunning and ever-changing river landscapes.

Full board - Fusion, Egyptian and International cuisine.

Complimentary onboard wifi.

Activities while sailing include morning treks, swimming, picnics, BBQ’s and live music performances by local artists.

Weather & Seasons

Egypt has year-round sun, and almost no rain. Daytime temperatures range from pleasantly warm in the winter to very hot in the summer. Northerly cities such as Cairo and Alexandria are generally about 5ºC cooler than southerly areas such as Aswan and Abu Simbel.

Getting Here

Departures are from Luxor or Aswan. To reach the docks, we recommend flying from Cairo to either destination. To Luxor it's an hour, and to Aswan it's 90 minutes. There are several daily flights, so there's no need to stay overnight in Cairo unless you wish to.
