Morukuru Ocean House, Garden Route, South Africa

Luxury 4 bedroom private house in the De Hoop Nature Reserve

From around £1,000 per night on all inclusive basis

Morukuru Ocean House is a four bedroom private house situated in the De Hoop Nature Reserve which stretches to infinity on either side and is often cited to be one of the most beautiful coastal reserves in

South Africa. It's the perfect spot for anyone seeking an exclusive and unique holiday. Visit from late July to November and you’ll be in a prime position to observe the migrating southern right whales:

an experience you will never forget.

Accommodation

The four bedroom house can accommodate eight adults and four children (all ages welcome) in four double suites, each with its own en suite bathroom and glass doors which overlook the ocean. Interiors are inspired by the surrounding fynbos dunes, with warm colours, muted woods and splashes of colour, like deep teals that reflect the inky seas outside the panoramic windows.

Activities & Experiences

At Morukuru, you create your own schedule and can do whatever you want, whenever you want. Hikes, bike rides and 4x4 fynbos tours can all be organised. Explore the mile long beaches with their many rock pools and caves and for the younger children kite making and fun educational tours can all be arranged. You can take part in guided marine walks, go sand boarding or mountain biking at your own pace, or simply recline on the enormous wraparound deck next to the sparkling pool. It’s the ideal ‘beach’ stay at the end of a thrilling safari and city combination.

Facilities & Services

Morukuru Ocean House is yours to enjoy, there is a large pool at the front of the house overlooking the ocean, where you can relax and enjoy the views. The lounge area is extremely comfortable and there is a fireplace for the cooler evenings. Alternatively, for the warmer days, the lounge area can be opened up so the sea breezes cool the house. A team of staff including maid, butler, and chef will welcome you in the usual colourful, cheerful manner of South Africa. They aim not to welcome you to the house, but rather to welcome you home. Food is cooked to your requirements by your personal chef, drinks are served by your personal butler in the open plan lounge and dining areas, or alternatively in the garden with its staggering views.

Weather & Seasons

South Africa's Garden Route enjoys a moderate climate all year round. In peak summer season, from December to February, temperatures climb as high as 34ºC, although winter temperatures can drop to as low as 4ºC. During the winter months of June, July, and August, expect frequent rains and a couple of chilly evenings. From June to December, the Southern Right Whale graces Walker Bay with its massive presence.
