The Ritz-Carlton Abama is a luxury 5* hotel resort in southern Tenerife that's hugely popular with families. Accommodation

The Ritz-Carlton Abama incorporates a variety of rooms, suites and villas to suit a wide range of guests, including plenty of inter-connecting options for families and an adults only quarter. All accommodation features a personal safe, mini-bar, telephone, 32" satellite and cable flat-screen television (42" television in suites, which also have a DVD/music system), high-speed internet access, a hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, an ironing board, tea and coffee-making facilities and a twice-daily maid service.

Activities & Experiences

For the little ones there's an excellent Kids' Club (and a teens' club), plus there's an 18 hole championship golf course (and academy), 7 courts at the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy, a private beach, and a fabulous spa. A range of wellbeing and fitness activities are available including yoga, pilates, zumba, spinning, aerobics and aqua aerobics. Some of these are complimentary and some carry an additional charge.

Families

Open daily from 10.00 until midnight (a supplement is charged after 18.00), Ritz Kids Club is an impressive set up and very popular for younger guests aged 4 to 12. The play area is enormous (300 sq.m of indoor and outdoor space) with diverse play zones. A highlight is the Ocean Futures programme, designed to inspire and educate little minds about the sea, its connection with humanity and nature and its role in our planet's survival. A Teen Club opens during the main school holidays and children aged from 7 to 16 years may also go to the spa with mum or dad for a treatment or yoga class. A family pool, children's pool and babysitting service complete the family facilities.

Facilities & Services

The Ritz-Carlton Abama has ten restaurants and cafes, along with several bars. From Argentinean and Japanese cuisine, to the finest contemporary Spanish gourmet cuisine, served in the resort's Two Michelin Star restaurant. You will enjoy dining poolside, inside or seaside! There are 7 swimming pools and, at the resort's world-class spa, Asian and African influences, alongside herbal flower essences, predominate. A range of spa rituals, face and body treatments will keep you blissfully pampered, plus manicures, pedicures, hairstyling and waxing are at the Beauty Centre.

Weather & Seasons

Tenerife has a mild year-round climate with little or no humidity, and very little rain. Temperatures are cooler from December to March and average 21°C; May, June and September it's around 25°C, rising to around 30°C in July and August.
