Set on a 2km private coastline in 230 hectares, Verdura is an exceptional resort with a wonderful sense of space. All of the rooms and suites have sea views and each blend beautifully into the landscape. The interior design by Olga Polizzi mixes an understated contemporary style with traditional Sicilian touches.
Accommodation
Verdura has 203 rooms and suites and 3 gorgeous villas; all are sleek, contemporary and beautifully designed. Many of the rooms and suites are interconnecting, making them ideal for couples, families or small groups. Spacious bathrooms in pale stone are accessorised with natural luxury bath products and accessed via walk-through wardrobes. All bathrooms have a bath and separate shower and lots of natural light.
Some rooms have courtyards planted with orange trees. All rooms have private terraces or balconies overlooking the sea.
Activities & Experiences
Verdura achieves the clever trick of keeping everyone happy, whatever their age and whether they want to be active or simply relax. A great selection of water sports is available from the beach (with instruction available). Guests can explore the resort by bicycle, or venture further afield to visit some of Sicily's great cultural sites. In resort there are 2 championship golf courses (plus a 9 hole par 3 course), tennis courts, yoga and pilates classes, and personal training. Verdura Resort has four restaurants to tempt you, including La Zagara with its sophisticated Mediterranean dining and Amare, the Olga Polizzi-styled beachside restaurant open in summer, with fresh Mediterranean favourites and barbecued seafood. Families will love Liolà, the pizzeria.
Verdura Spa is a stand-alone sanctuary at the heart of the resort, with a large hammam, sophisticated relaxation areas and a juice bar. This Sicilian luxury spa takes a holistic approach to wellbeing, with an extensive menu of treatments infused with organic Sicilian plant oils and extracts that promise to promote anti-ageing, detoxification and fitness.
Weather & Seasons
Sicily enjoys a lovely year-round warm Mediterranean climate, with mild winters (around 15°C) and warm springs and autumns (20°C to 25°C), whilst July and August are blessed with glorious sunshine and average temperatures of around 28°C.
