Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp, Tanzania

Luxury tented camp set on the crater's rim

Available as part of a tailor-made itinerary by our safari specialists

Small, classic, luxury tented camp set on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, home to a huge variety of animals including lion, jackal, cheetah, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, hippo, elephant and the elusive leopard.

Accommodation

The camp has 10 luxury safari tents. Each offers an en-suite bathroom with an indoor bucket shower. Tents also feature a private deck, safe, hairdryer and mosquito nets.

Activities & Experiences

Morning and afternoon game drives in the crater to see a tremendous variety of game, often in huge numbers. And a visit to the local Maasai village is a must.

Facilities & Services

The main areas of the camp include a dining tent, lounge and bar with comfortable leather sofas creating the perfect place to sit and relax with your favourite drink soaking up the spectacular views of the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy delightful bush breakfasts, picnic lunches and dinner served under the stars. Children older than six years old are welcome.

Weather & Seasons

Tanzania is a large country, with a varied climate. Generally, the long rains run from March to May - the temperature is warm and the humidity is high. June to October is the long dry season, and the short rains are in November and December, much lighter than the long rains. January and February are again dry (the short dry season) so this is another good time to visit.

Getting Here

As the camp moves twice each year, much depends on where you're coming from. For example, if you're being transferred by 4X4 safari vehicle from Ngorongoro Crater the journey takes about 3 hours - game viewing the whole way!
