Sanctuary Zein Nile Chateau, Nile Cruises, Egypt

A tailor-made journey of discovery and insight along the Nile, aboard a luxurious 6 cabin dahabiya

5 nights exclusive hire from around £25,000, including full board, resident Egyptologist, all guided excursions and entrance fees
Flights and transfers arranged at an additional charge

The first 'dahabiya' (sailing boat) built to international luxury standards, the Sanctuary Zein Nile Chateau is one of the most luxurious boats sailing on the River Nile. The smallest of the Sanctuary fleet, with just 2 suites and 4 cabins, its boutique size means it can dock at smaller ports - so your fully-personalised itinerary can take you off the beaten track and away from the busy tourist spots. This is further enhanced by private docks in Luxor and Aswan. For exclusive hire only.

Accommodation

All six cabins and suites benefit from air-conditioning and expansive windows. Designed to offer a more private sailing experience, the boat marries modern elegance and old-world glamour in the two spacious suites and the four luxury cabins

The Journey

You can specify where you go, what you see, the places you visit on shore and – since the Sanctuary Zein Nile Chateau is much smaller than other cruisers – you will be able to land in places the larger liners can only sail past. Between Luxor and Aswan, the world of the ancient Egyptians as well as today’s sights are yours. On board, and for all your guided excursions, you’ll have the luxury of insight from

the boat's resident Egyptologist.

Facilities & Services

The upper shaded sundecks are ideal for lazing around and soaking up the sun, and there's a refreshing pool to cool off in. Gourmet food, prepared on board by your own kitchen crew and included in the charter price, is served in the light and airy dining room and you'll also find a cigar lounge and library on board. Plus a cinema. Laundry facilities and internet access are available at an extra charge, with the peace of mind of an on call doctor at your disposal an added benefit.

Weather & Seasons

Egypt has year-round sun, and almost no rain. Daytime temperatures range from pleasantly warm in the winter to very hot in the summer. Northerly cities such as Cairo and Alexandria are generally about 5ºC cooler than southerly areas such as Aswan and Abu Simbel.

Getting Here

Departures are from Luxor or Aswan. To reach the docks, we recommend flying from Cairo to either destination. To Luxor it's an hour, and to Aswan it's 90 minutes. There are several daily flights, so there's no need to stay overnight in Cairo unless you wish to.
