Camp Kalahari is situated in a remote part of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and offers some of the best summer wildlife viewing opportunities in Africa. The Reserve is the largest conservation area in Botswana and at 5 million hectares (12 million acres), one of the largest in the world.

Camp Kalahari is simple, cosy, comfortable and traditional. Nestled amongst the acacias and Mokolwane palms of Brown Hyaena Island, it's a perfect spot to experience the Kalahari and Makgadikgadi as it sits on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans and is adjacent to the Makgadikgadi-Nxai Pans National Park.

Accommodation

Camp Kalahari has 12 Meru tents comprising of six twin tents, four double tents and two family inter-connecting tents. All have en-suite outdoor bathrooms with flushing loos and hot showers. The tent interiors are classic in appearance with comfy beds, crisp sheets and stripy African blankets. During the colder months, hot water bottles are provided.

Activities & Experiences

Activities on offer are guided walks with the Bushmen, quad bike excursions onto the pan, nature walks and drives and an experience with a group of wild but habituated meerkats. For many, the principal reason for coming here is the chance to walk with the Kalahari Bushmen. The San interpret the signs of the bush like no one else, all senses build a picture of their world. Beyond this, on the hunt, San tap into the spirit world, entering the minds of their quarry. This natural understanding has to be seen to be believed.

Facilities & Services

Guests can relax in a traditionally built thatch library, living and dining area. There's also a separate lounge area strewn with cushions - an ideal place  to lie back and unwind. Camp Kalahari has 6 Twin spacious Meru tents with en-suite bathrooms, flush loos and running water. Along with comfy beds, crunchy cotton sheets, stripy African blankets and hot water bottles in winter. The meals at Camp Kalahari are plated, not buffet style, and are comprised of interesting and delicious dishes from all over Africa.

The Okavango Delta provides excellent wildlife viewing year-round.
