Stanley's Camp, Okavango Delta, Botswana

Luxury, intimate camp with excellent service, accommodation and guiding

Available as part of your tailor-made itinerary, designed for you by our safari specialists

Stanley's Camp is set in a 260,000 acre private concession, bordering the southern section of the Moremi Game Reserve, and is one of the Okavango's more intimate camps with just 8 luxury tents. Guests can expect to experience the best of Africa's wildlife and the highest standards of service and accommodation.

Accommodation

The camp consists of eight classic safari tents raised on wooden decks, each with en suite facilities - all with wooden polished floors and beautifully furnished. The large deck is the perfect spot from which to watch the sunrise with an early morning coffee or simply enjoying an afternoon siesta from the comfort of your own hammock.

Activities & Experiences

The bush surrounding Stanley's Camp has much to offer: game walks, day and night-time game drives and, subject to water levels, excursions by mokoro (wooden dug out canoes). You can track a wide variety of big-game species: giraffe, buffalo, lion and leopard are often encountered. A particular highlight here is the resident herd of elephant: wild, but habituated over the last fifteen years to share their natural world with you. There is the chance to join these graceful giants on walking safaris through the bush, sharing in their daily activities of bathing, foraging, feeding and play. It's an extraordinary experience.

Facilities & Services

The main building is raised on decking and offers extensive views over the surrounding floodplains. There's even a swimming pool - also with far reaching views. Dinner is served overlooking the game-filled plains, seasonally glazed with their life-giving flood of water. The finest cuisine is complemented by a carefully selected choice of South African wines.

Weather & Seasons

Botswana’s winter is May to October when the weather is hot during the day (not stiflingly hot) and cold at night. Botswana's summer months from November to April can be hot and humid, with a chance of rain. Botswana's rainy season runs from mid-December to mid-March. The Okavango Delta provides excellent wildlife viewing year-round.

Getting Here

The camp is accessible by air from Maun (15 minutes), Kasane (90 minutes) and all other delta camps. The camp has its own airstrip, about 20 minutes away.
