Mallorca's most elegent beach hotel, ideal for adults and families

7 nights from around £1,450 to £2,450pp sharing (depending on season), including flights and transfers

Steeped in history, 5* Royal Hideaway Formentor, one of Majorca’s most emblematic seaside hotels, sits like an exotic white palace amid lush vegetation on the spectacular Formentor peninsula. Facing the sea within its own mature gardens, it offers peace and tranquility coupled with spectacular views across the bay,

a lovely beach and superb facilities. Grace Kelly and Prince Ranier honeymooned here.

Accommodation

The hotel has 120 rooms and suites, all of which were completely refurbished during the winter 2016/17 closed season. All rooms have private bathrooms, satellite television, safe, air conditioning, WiFi, iPod dock and either sea or mountain views. There's also a secluded 2 bedroom villa with a private pool.

Activities & Experiences

Having negotiated the helter-skelter mountain road from Port Pollensa, some guests might prefer to stay put. For the adventurous, the hotel’s nautical centre will organise boat trips around glorious Pollensa Bay, Formentor island, and even a close up view of the impressive Sa Forteleza estate. Just 7 miles from the hotel, on the extreme northern tip of Majorca, is Cap de Formentor lighthouse, affording mesmerising vistas. It’s a 20-minute journey by car to Port Pollensa where there is a vibrant nightlife.

Facilities & Services

Aside from the glorious external pool, facilities include four tennis courts, a padel court, fitness studio, kids' club, and a little spa. Private Balinese cabins facing the sea with double bed, TV, bathroom, sunbeds and outdoor jacuzzi can also be booked. A highlight of the hotel is its direct access to the beach. Sunbeds and parasols by the sea have a daily charge.

A great choice of dining options includes three beachfront restaurants (seasonal) serving up Italian, Mediterranean and à la carte choices. At Platja Mar you can admire breathtaking views over the bay as you watch the expert chefs prepare your fresh and tasty meal in the show kitchen. El Colomer, the main restaurant, has international and Mediterranean cuisine and there is a stylish restaurant opposite the pool

Weather & Seasons

Mallorca is a year-round destination and probably best in late Spring and early Autumn. During the summer (June through to September) there's very little rain and daytime temperatures average around 27°C, and it gets a few degrees warmer in July and August.
