Sublime Comporta, Portugal

This chic boutique beach hideaway is as heavenly as the name suggests

Rooms from around £240 per night, including breakfast. Flights and transfers available at an additional cost.

Set amid a pine forest just moments from some of Portugal's best beaches, this beautifully designed boutique hotel is the perfect escape from urban life. Great food, fabulous rooms and suites, a relaxing spa and a warm welcome all contribute to the mellow get-away-from-it-all ambience.

Accommodation

This luxury Portuguese boutique hideaway has just 23 guest rooms and suites. All rooms are bright and spacious with floor to ceiling windows and private balconies. The décor is contemporary with white and grey colour schemes and minimalist furnishings.

The hotel also has 22 fully detached 2 to 5 bedroom luxury villa cabanas, with private pool, large living room and fully equipped kitchen - and all are fully serviced by the hotel and ideal for families.

Activities & Experiences

This is a beach-lover's paradise, with some of Portugal's best beaches within easy reach by car. Carvalhal and Pego are less than a ten minute drive from the hotel, while Comporta and Soltroia beaches are about 20 minutes away. Activities in the local area include surfing, horse riding, cycling (the hotel has bicycles you can borrow) and bird watching in Estuário nature reserve. It is also possible to do cooking classes at the hotel and Troia's golf course is just 28km away. Lisbon is just an hour north by car so easily reached for a day trip - or why not stay in the city for a night or two before or after your time at Sublime Comporta? We can recommend some great little hotels.

Facilities & Services

There are two swimming pools: a small indoor pool within the spa and a larger outdoor pool, which is overlooked by the restaurant. Both are solar heated. The spa uses natural products from The Organic Pharmacy and offers treatments ranging from massages to aromatherapy. An outdoor wooden pavilion is available for a relaxing al-fresco massage or private yoga lesson.

The restaurant is the centre piece of the hotel, with high windows making the most of the lovely view over the pool and pine forest beyond. The head chef David João creates innovative Portuguese dishes, many of which focus on ingredients from the hotel's own organic garden or

the local fishermen's catch.

Weather & Seasons

Southern Portugal has a mild climate with more that 300 days of sunshine a year. The weather generally warm and sunny in May with the risk of the odd shower but by June the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings, especially in July and August. June and September are particularly pleasurable months.
