The Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Grand colonial hotel in the heart of fascinating Kuala Lumpur

Only available as part of a tailor-made holiday in Malaysia

The original colonial style building dates back to 1932 and became one of the great hotels of Kuala Lumpur and is still a remarkable, grand place to stay in the fascinating city. Set in over 3 acres, the hotel is made up of two wings The Tower Wing and the Majestic Wing, the latter being the original. The hotel has an art deco style mixed with modern facilities and colonial furniture.

Accommodation

There are a variety of rooms and suites to suit all, with picturesque views of the city or the hotel's gardens. The junior suites are a combination of contemporary and classic design with beautiful teak floors. The rooms and suites in the Majestic Wing have more of a colonial feel and are beautifully appointed. The Tower Wing houses the majority of the hotel’s plush guestrooms and suites, with bathrooms that are delightfully decadent glass enclosed sanctuaries with dual vanities, a separate rain shower and large free standing bathtub facing a wall-mounted television for those long bubble bath soaks at the end of the day. All rooms and suites feature have complimentary wi-fi.

Activities & Experiences

There is a tremendous amount to see and enjoy in Kuala Lumpur, and visiting Chinatown at night is a must. We also recommend a guided full day tour of Malacca, ruled by the Portuguese, Dutch and lastly the British over a period of 400 years. Visit the pink-coloured Stadhuys, Cheng Hoon Teng the oldest Chinese temple in the Peninsular and the Portuguese Fortress Porta de Santiago built in 1511.

Facilities & Services

The Majestic has two swimming pools (one on the 4th floor of the tower wing and one beside the spa), an excellent spa, a fully equipped gym, a screening room, and cigar room. Enjoy delicious Asian, Japanese and Western meals in Contango, delight in more classic menus in the Colonial Café or simply relax in The Bar and enjoy a Stengah, Gin Pahit or Sling just like the planters of the colonial times.

Weather & Seasons

Year round destination. Tropical without extremely high temperatures. Days are very warm and often humid, while nights are fairly cool. Average daytime temperatures in Kuala Lumpur are around 27°C (82°F) year round. Although there’s rain through the year, March to April and September to November are the wettest months.
